10:57p meeting with friend
Today I met with my friend K. Yukie, whom I met when I first studied in Japan (two years ago). I've half-kept in contact with her since then (we're both busy), and so we decided to meet up in Shinjuku today. We did that.
It was very enjoyable, with good conversation. Probably 85% of our conversation was in Japanese, which I felt bad about - she's an English major - but then when we were riding on the train back from Shinjuku we started talking in English because it was less likely that the drunk man on the train would get mad at us that way. Both of our language skills have improved immensely since we last met.
Also, I asked her a mean question about English grammar since I didn't know the answer and I thought she might know, having studied the language: Is it grammatically incorrect to say "There's no stairs over there"? And if so, why did I say it to a bunch of Australians last week?
She said she would take that question to her English-major-friends and professors at the year-end party she was going to tonight.
I enjoyed talking with her and want to meet up with her again!

12:04a ugh
I shouldn't be on the computer; I should be in bed with my speech for tomorrow written. But our neighbor came over for dinner and the writing didn't happen yet...ugh.
It's midnight. I have to get up at 6:30 tomorrow for a 9AM class.
Anyway, there are blog entries that should be happening soon. Just not now.
UGH UGH SPEECH THINGS AND KANJI STUDYING UGH.
If my econ class had had less reading this week all would have been fine. Sadface.
In other news, I think my habit of writing several thousand characters' worth of a story that I'm trying to get done by the end of this week (...not gonna happen, I'm starting to think) on my cell phone is giving me texter's thumb. Bad news bears.
